Please upgrade X-431 Display program to V14.06 or above |
Make sure to download and install Display program V14.06 or above before you download and install diagnostic update software released after Jan.28 2005. This upgrade will allow new updates to display correctly on your X-431 unit. |
Application Description of 16-pin Connectors |
1. SMART OBDII-16 connector is used for testing vehicle models without a CAN BUS system (if the 6 and 14 pin positions of the 16-PIN diagnostic socket has sheet metal, it indicates that the vehicle is without CAN BUS system).
2. OBDII-16C connector is used for testing non-CAN BUS systems of the vehicle model with a CAN BUS system (if the 6 and 14 pin positions of the16-PIN diagnostic socket has sheet metal, it indicates that the vehicle has a CAN BUS system).
3. CAN DIAGNOSTIC connector is used for testing CAN BUS system (if the 6 and 14 pin positions of the 16-PIN diagnostic socket has sheet metal, it indicates that the vehicle has a CAN BUS system).
4. TOYOTA-16 connector is used for testing all TOYOTA vehicle models with a 16-PIN diagnostic socket (when testing LX470 and LAND CRUIS vehicle models, special TOYOTA-16 connector must be used, otherwise ABS may malfunction).
5. BMW-16 connector is used for testing all BMW models with a 16-PIN diagnostic socket.

Notification about using TOYOTA-16 diagnostic connector to test LX470 and LAND CRUISER |
To test 2002 or newer LX470 and LAND CRUISER with TOYOTA V18.00 software, the TOYOTA-16 must be selected; otherwise, it may result in failure of ABS.
The TOYOTA-16 diagnostic connector has been developed and produced by the diagnostic division of LAUNCH. Users may contact their local distributor with questions.
Additional note:
When performing test by selecting MOBD_II please enter the system according to vehicle year. There are two menu systems available for this version: MOBD_II and connector mode. User can select either.

Notice (For Testing Nissan Vehicle) |
Select correct connector when testing Nissan vehicles. If the Nissan vehicle is equipped with CAN-BUS, select [OBDII-16C] connector. Otherwise, select [NISSAN -14+16] connector.
If you don’t have the [OBDII-16C] connector, please contact your local dealer or X-431 USA.
