A. The unit has a simple three module design. If a section goes bad, that part is simply exchanged.

Q. What kind of paper is used in the printer? Where do I get it?

A. It uses calculator style thermal paper. Your dealer can supply this.

Q. Does the unit have a battery? |
A.
No, the unit is powered by the data link connector in the vehicle or through the vehicles battery using the cigarette lighter. There is a 110V AC adaptor for powering up the X-431 when you are next to your computer to verify your recent downloads. The 110V AC adaptor should never be used when you are hooked to a vehicle.
